DaBella's Twin Falls team assembled beds for children in need during a large community event at the CSI Expo Center on May 2. The family-owned home improvement company partnered with hundreds of volunteers to address a national shortage affecting an estimated 108,000 children waiting for their own beds. This effort underscores DaBella's commitment to community support through its core values of Lead, Care, and Grow.
Roots of a National Mission in Local Action
Sleep in Heavenly Peace began in Twin Falls in 2012 when founders Luke and Heidi Mickelson built a bed for one local family. That single act sparked a nonprofit with over 300 chapters nationwide, all rallied around the motto: “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town.” The DaBella team contributed directly to this hometown chapter, cutting lumber, sanding wood, and constructing frames set for delivery with mattresses and bedding to Magic Valley families.
DaBella Cares Initiative Drives Broader Impact
DaBella integrates community investment into its operations, backing veteran services, cancer research, and families facing hardship via the DaBella Cares program. Participation in the bed build aligns with this approach, extending the company's care beyond home improvements. “At DaBella, we believe that real growth comes from adding value to the people and communities around us,” said Luke Sorensen, Director of Community Engagement. “Supporting Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a reflection of that.”
Corporate Values Fuel Lasting Community Change
Headquartered in Texas with 68 branches across the U.S., DaBella has operated as a family business since 2011, focusing on exterior home improvements sourced from American manufacturers. Sleep in Heavenly Peace has delivered over 369,000 beds since its founding, tackling economic barriers that leave children without safe sleep. DaBella's hands-on involvement highlights how businesses can partner with nonprofits to create tangible relief for vulnerable families, fostering stability in communities they serve.
